Comedy Continues in Pacifica

IT JUST GETS FUNNIER & FUNNIER
Sunday, November 8 @ 9 pm Michael Slack headlines at The Octopus Lounge. Slack mesmerized Pacificans at Winter’s Bar and then left to try his luck in New York. However, he missed the salty sea air and he is back in the Bay area to entertain us with his intelligent observations and thoughtful, engaging repartee. Slack is considered one of the sharpest writers and quickest wits in the comedy business.

Joining him is Ross Turner, who headlined to great acclaim in the Chit Chat comedy series last year. At last, Turner does not have to list other people’s credits to impress us. He has more than enough of his own. He made his Canadian debut at the Vancouver Comedy Festival, and has appeared on numerous occasions at San Francisco SketchFest, San Francisco Theater Festival, and the San Francisco International Comedy Festival. Home shopping addicts have seen him hawking drills and routers on QVC's Craftsman Workshop. Look for Ross on KPIX Channel 5’s Mama’s Show and starring in the independent feature film Everything Must Go; both in early 2010.

Ant there is more: Tessie Chua, a Pacifica favorite will amaze you with her acerbic and realistic view of every day life and our own Lynn Ruth Miller will host the event to make sure everyone’s fancy is very tickled.

Wednesday November 11, Mickey Joseph a national favorite who is a regular at The Punchline, the Santa Cruz Crow’s Nest and Sunnyvale’s Rooster T. Feathers, will headline a show featuring Dan Edwards a Baby Boomer gone Bad and Fred Anderson, a magician and juggler gone crazy. If you haven’t caught Mickey’s comedy act, you will certainly have seen him as Joey Bishop in the Rat Pack. Dan will discuss middle age and if you haven’t gotten there already, you will sooner than you realize. Fred Anderson has appeared on several Pacifica stages and delighted us all with his juggling, his patter and his off-the-wall take on just about everything.

It looks like Pacificans will have a very funny week ahead at the Brand New Octopus Lounge.
